Hap Wilson Books Available at the Rosseau Gallery
The official Hap Wilson Gallery is located in the Muskoka Village of Rosseau. Highlited is Wilson's Nature Photography, artwork, and eight published books. The latest of a series of short stories, "Grey Owl and Me" was recently nominated for top award by the Ontario Historical Society.

Trail Planning & Green Design
A concise masterplan that fits the environment and your budget. Bio and cultural surveys, exploring local resources, volunteer management, GPS ground-truthing and overall costing. Constructing a Green Plan for trails that's best for you and the environment.

Trail Construction
Using preferred eco-friendly hand tools and machinery only where practical, sculpting natural base trails or using compacted materials where required, based on sustainable techniques. A well-designed trail will save money in maintenance in the long run.

Trail Structures
Whether engineered or simple, boardwalks and bridge construction is our specialty. The majority of structures are simple, floating boardwalks or low puncheons and we also construct safe, anchored observation decks and wildlife viewing stations. Some of our earlier structures have lasted over 30 years.

Landscaping
A hallmark of our designed trails are benchcuts and switchbacks, rock armouring, stone steps, retaining walls, accents and rock or chainsaw-carved art sculptures. Within a year of construction, our trails look like they've been their naturally for decades.

Support Structures
These include warm-up chalets, sugar shacks, trailhead kiosks, maintenance buildings and interpretive signage boards.

Water Trails or Canoe & Kayak Routes
All routes are graded for difficulty, including any fast-water or tidal fluctuations, ground-truthed and gps mapped. A full cultural and bio-survey is completed along with detailed cartographic representation.

Wayfinding & Signage
We have a background in safety-coded directional signs and wayfinding systems, artictic cartography/trail maps, interpretive illustration and trailhead signs. We also do structural art such as chainsaw carvings and wood-sculpted art.

Risk Management Consulting
Risk Management is an important facet of trail design and "duty-of-care" in order to avoid liability issues. The complete trail design package also includes a risk management protocol, evacuation logistics, safety specifics.
